Mission Statement The Chamber is organized to achieve the objectives of:
Board of Directors Responsibilities The government and policy-making responsibilities of the Chamber are vested in the Board of Directors, which controls its property, be responsible for its finances, and direct its affairs. The Board consists of up to thirty-three (33) members. Twenty-seven members are elected by the general membership and serve three-year terms. Up to six members of the Board may be appointed to one-year terms by the Executive Board. Any appointed member who wishes to run for a three year term shall petition to be placed on the ballot. The Executive Board shall always strive to have at least five members each from the geographic regions of Inverness, Crystal River, and Homosassa. The appointed Directors may be used to address geographic or industry segment needs, as they exist. Members of the Board elected by the general membership shall commence their tenure on January 1 and terminate their tenure on December 31, three years hence. There is no limit on the number of terms an individual may seek. Governmental Affairs Committee: Members work together to identify issues of importance to the county. They also take part in the annual Legislative Day trip to Tallahassee. For more Information on Governmental Affairs Committee click here. Special Events Committee: Members work together to assist with the Manatee and Strawberry Festivals as well as other events throughout the year. Meetings are held as needed. Membership Committee: Members work together to strengthen and maintain membership. Business Women’s Alliance: The Mission of the Alliance is to support, develop and promote all women through education, mentoring, information exchange, partnerships and alliances with organizations by promoting opportunities for all women in Citrus County. Ambassador Responsibilities: As Chamber Ambassadors, we represent an informed and active group of business leaders who serve as liaisons between the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce and our community. Our goal is to increase and retain members by active participation in our business community and chamber functions, programs and committees. We will maintain communication between our Board of Directors and our fellow Ambassadors and encourage attendance to all Chamber functions. We will continue to act as mentors to our new members to help our Chamber grow. We accept the commitment of positive leadership in our Chamber and will work as a team of goodwill Ambassadors to our community.
