Membership Guidelines

The BWA shall consist of not more than twenty-five (25) female members. BWA members are Citrus County Chamber of Commerce members in good standing and who are committed to furthering the mission of the BWA. Members of the BWA are to be active members through serving on subcommittees as well as participating in BWA events throughout the year.

Our Committees

The Executive Committee, BWA’s leadership group, shall include representation and input from the major working subcommittees. This group will function as an executive deliberative body.

The Luncheon Subcommittee organizes the quarterly networking luncheons; these luncheons are to assist business women in the community with business development through information exchange. Funds raised at the luncheons are used for BWA Scholarships.

The Scholarship Subcommittee develops and distributes scholarship applications at the county's high schools and WTI, evaluates scholarship applications and recommends recipients to the BWA for concurrence and approval. Subcommittee members act as liaison with the schools and represent BWA at award ceremonies.

The Sunshine Subcommittee will track BWA members birthdays and anniversaries; announcing these special occasions at each meeting. This subcommittee will also send cards of comfort or congratulations when the need arises to BWA members.

The Women’s HEALTH & FITNESS Expo Subcommittee is responsible for planning and executing all aspects of this yearly event with the purpose of educating women and those around them about their health, fitness and wellness. Funds raised at the Expo are used for BWA Scholarships.
